Move around.

Become active – from your chair or sofa!

We should all engage in some form of physical activity every day. This can help improve health and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, as well as risk of falling.

The mobi is a good choice for those with limited walking ability or minor movement restrictions such as those with general age-related weakness or with mild symptoms of other illnesses.

Questions?

What is the THERA-Trainer mobi?

The THERA-Trainer mobi is a particularly small, compact and lightweight cycling trainer. However, compared to many low-cost products on the market, it is an approved medical device with a powerful drive unit and all the necessary build-in safety features for clinical and home use. The mobi is a fully-fledged training device that also meets high demands.

How much does a THERA-Trainer mobi cost?

Depending on the configuration and required accessories, the costs for a THERA-Trainer mobi can vary. We will gladly advise you to find out which configuration you need and make you an individual offer. For training at home, in some countries, the tigo is reimbursed by health insurance companies. We’re also looking forward to advise you individually on this. As an alternative to purchasing, we also offer attractive rental and leasing models for our equipment.

Which configuration of the THERA-Trainer mobi is right for me?

This depends very much on the area of application and the patient clientele. Get in touch with us! Our clinical application specialists and product consultants have a lot of experience and can define the right setup with you based on your requirements.

The THERA-Trainer mobi is especially used in the following settings:

  • Hospitals (Acute & Intensive care)
  • Stroke units

  • Outpatient rehabilitation centers
  • MS centers
  • Long term care facilities
  • Elderly care homes
  • Gyms
  • And of course, Home care.

  • Craniocerebral injuries
  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
  • Apallic syndrome (coma vigil, aphasia)
  • Infantile cerebral palsy
  • Polio syndrome

  • and for many other clinical pictures with movement restrictions.

What is the minimum activity level for training with the THERA-Trainer mobi?

For safe and feasible training with the THERA-Trainer mobi, patients must at least be mobilised into a wheelchair. The legs should be able to be stabilised against gravity, as the THERA-Trainer mobi does not have a leg support, an anti-spasm-control or many more accessory options, like the tigo. An indication for training should always first be determined by the physician or therapist and subsequently accompanied.

What therapy goals are usually pursued with the THERA-Trainer mobi?

The therapy goals that are usually pursued with the THERA-Trainer mobi can vary depending on the individual needs and abilities of the patient. However, here are some typical therapy goals that are targeted with the THERA-Trainer mobi:

Improving mobility: the THERA-Trainer mobi can be used to improve patients’ ability to move. This includes strengthening muscles, improving joint mobility, and promoting coordination and balance.
Restoring motor function: following a stroke, spinal cord injury or other neurological condition, THERA-Trainer mobi can be used to restore motor skills. This may include the ability to perform certain movements, such as reaching for objects or walking.

Increasing endurance: The THERA-Trainer mobi can be used to improve patients’ cardiovascular fitness and endurance. Targeted training on the device can improve physical performance and increase resilience.
Increasing strength: The THERA-Trainer mobi can also be used for resistance training to improve patients’ muscle strength.

Spasticity and Pain management: For patients with spasticity and chronic pain, the THERA-Trainer mobi can be used to provide exercise therapy that can help to relieve. Controlled movements and targeted training can relax muscles and reduce pain.

Promoting independence in everyday life: An important therapy goal with the THERA-Trainer mobi is to promote independence and autonomy in everyday life. This can include improving the ability to get around independently, perform daily activities such as dressing or cooking, and improving overall quality of life.

However, it is important to note that therapy goals are tailored to the individual patient and should be determined in consultation with the treating therapist.

How does the mobi differ from the other THERA-Trainer Cycling products?

Compared to the THERA-Trainer tigo, the mobi is the smaller brother. While tigo is the most powerful and adaptable flagship of the Cycling product line, the THERA-Trainer mobi is characterized by its compactness and lightness. The THERA-Trainer mobi does not take up much space, is easy to transport and can therefore be used in many different ways. From the patient’s room to the home. In contrast the THERA-Trainer bemo is a special bike for training in a lying or semi-lying position, while the mobi can be used exclusively in a sitting position.

How is the THERA-Trainer mobi different from other Cycling products on the market?

Unlike many inexpensive compact trainers, the THERA-Trainer mobi is an absolute quality product that stands out as a medical device due to its high performance, durability and safety. This makes the THERA-Trainer mobi the perfect solution for use in the clinical area and at home. For all those who are looking for a solid and high quality product.

One advantage of training with the THERA-Trainer is that the training stimulus can be set sufficiently high and frequently at home, as it makes perfect sense to train daily or better three times a day.

As a powered wheelchair user, the tigo helps me to move both my arms and legs and improve my strength and fitness. When I use it, I can feel my heart rate being raised and I am hoping that it will allow me to regain some of the mobility I have recently lost. The number of adjustments mean that people with many different levels of ability can use a THERA-Trainer. This is adaptive and accessible fitness for all the family!

We have coma patients that we put in the dynamic standing trainer. Maybe a bit unusual, but very interesting! Because especially when we bring these patients into the verticalization very important stimuli are given.

Training on an active-passive movement trainer, such as the THERA-Trainer, trains the foot lifter, hip flexor and quadriceps muscle in a targeted manner and is therefore a specific, useful training for MS patients in all stages of the disease, not only for contracture prophylaxis and spasticity reduction.
